Sikkens is the official supplier of paint solutions to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team.

The new Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP-24 has been finished with a sophisticated, state-of-the-art system of Sikkens products tailor-made by AkzoNobel Car Refinishes to meet the unique technical demads of Grand Prix racing.

This ppartnership is an alliance between two successful teams. The possibility of transfering knowledge gained in extreme enviroments such as F1 to our own processes is invaluable.

Our partnership began with a phone call from the McLaren Chairman and CEO Ron Dennis, who set down the challenge of developing a new silver chrome paint finish for the 2009 Formula 1 season. Weight, aerodynamics and eco-efficiency also had to be taken into account.
